ag junior Sponsor: Sam Camp Contact: samantha.camp@carrollcountyschools.com Ag Junior is a club for 3rd–5th grade students who are interested in learning more about agriculture and the world around them. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, students will explore topics such as plants, animals, farming, natural resources, and where our food comes from. Ag Junior provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while gaining a greater appreciation for agriculture and its importance in everyday life.
big brother and big sister Sponsor: Nina Boyd Contact: nina.boyd@carrollcountyschools.com, The Big Brother, Big Sister Club gives selected 5th grade students the opportunity to serve as positive role models and mentors to students in our adaptive classrooms. Students who demonstrate strong character, responsibility, kindness, and leadership are chosen to participate. Our 5th grade members build meaningful friendships with their younger buddies through activities such as reading books together, spending time together, and participating in field trips and Special Olympics events. This special program creates lasting connections while teaching our older students the importance of compassion, inclusion, and serving others.

Students will develop important skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, patience, and strategic planning while learning how to play and improve their game. Chess Club also encourages friendly competition, good sportsmanship, and teamwork as students challenge themselves and one another.

Through fun activities, running, and movement-based challenges, students will work on building endurance, setting personal goals, and developing a positive attitude toward lifelong fitness. The club also encourages teamwork, perseverance, and good sportsmanship while providing a fun and supportive environment for students to stay active!
garden club Sponsor: Patches Staples Contact: patches.staples@carrollcountyschools.com The Garden Club is for students who are interested in learning about the process of gardening and have a desire to help make MZE a beautiful place to be! Students will gain hands-on experience planting, watering, weeding, and caring for flowers and other plants while learning about the life cycle of plants and the importance of caring for our environment. Through teamwork and creativity, members will help enhance and maintain the school’s outdoor spaces, creating a beautiful and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.

K-Kids is a service club for elementary-age students that teaches the importance of leadership, kindness, and helping others. The local Kiwanis Club of Carrollton serves as the sponsor of our K-Kids Club, providing support and opportunities for students to connect with the community.

Through fun, interactive activities, students will learn common signs, the ASL alphabet, and simple ways to communicate with others. The club also promotes inclusion, communication, and an appreciation for the diverse ways people connect with one another.

Students can compete individually or with a partner, and we can have one team representing 3-4 grades and 5-6 grades for each category. If students earn first place, they will move on to the Regional competition and possibly the State competition. The following categories are available for competing in: 3D Modeling, Animation, Audio Production, Device Modification, Digital Game Design, Digital Photo, Production, Graphic Design, Internet Applications, Mobile Apps, Multimedia Applications, Productivity Design, Programming Challenge, Project Programming, Robotics, Video Production

Students will learn about the fundamental skills such as serving, rallying, footwork, and hand-eye coordination while learning the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and perseverance.
