This is my 21st year as a teacher. I am just as excited now as I was in my first year.  I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia, and my M.A. in Early Childhood Instruction from Central Michigan University. I am a Nationally STEM certified teacher, 5th grade team leader, and also have my gifted endorsement.  Prior to coming to Mount Zion Elementary, I taught in Douglas County for ten years, and this will be my eleventh year in Carroll County.  I am happily married to my wonderful husband Matthew Boyd; we are a blended and blessed family and refer to ourselves as the "Party of 6". Our four kids Kaymen (15), Miles (14), Braylee (13), and Asher (11) are the center of our lives. Kaymen and Braylee attend school in Carroll County and Miles and Asher attend school in Cherokee County.  We also have an adorable 1 year old Havanese puppy, Ozzie Aaron, who is spoiled rotten. We are a sports loving family we love to go to as many sporting events as possible.  You can frequently find us at Truist Park cheering on our Atlanta Braves.  We love to travel around and see how many AA and AAA baseball parks we can visit, watch or attend NASCAR races, and support Atlanta sports by routing and following Georgia Tech, the Hawks, and Atlanta United.  If I am not working, or at a sporting event I spend my free time enjoying time with my family and friends, having fun at the lake, reading, or napping. I can't wait to have an amazing year!
